Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our remote team. You will assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, ensure accurate sequencing from patient records, and oversee coder quality where applicable.

The role emphasizes documentation improvement, high coding accuracy, and adherence to productivity benchmarks, with strong communication across teams and hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Preference for AHIMA/AAPC credentials is noted on the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Accurately sequence and abstract codes from patient records with precision.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Uphold site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues and hospital staff.
