Job summary

Datavant is actively seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role. You will code using ICD-10-CM/PCS, review patient records, and oversee coding accuracy with Level 1 & 2 coders to maintain quality benchmarks.

The position requires at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred and strong communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records, ensuring precision and adherence to documentation
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues, facilitating resolution with relevant stakeholders
• Uphold an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% accuracy rate for MS-DRG assignments
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff, while addressing clinical and reimbursement issues
