Job summary

Datavant seeks an experienced inpatient coder to join our remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, abstract patient records, and audit levels of coding accuracy while supporting documentation improvement initiatives.

Minimum 3 years inpatient coding experience required, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred and strong communication skills. The role offers a fully remote schedule and collaboration with healthcare professionals across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes from patient records.
• Sequence and abstract codes with precision.
• Audit Level 1 & 2 Coders' work where applicable.
• Champion document improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Coordinate with colleagues and hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues.
