Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role with a flexible schedule. The position focuses on assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, abstracting records, and ensuring high accuracy across MS-DRG reporting.

Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, with CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong verbal and written communication skills. Benefits include remote work and credentialed training resources.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Abstract medical codes from patient records with precision.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues with stakeholders.
• Maintain an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate professionally with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
