Qualifications

• Two years inpatient records coding experience or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Ability to make sound decisions.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with electronic health records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately reviews records and codes diagnoses and procedures per AHA/AHIMA/UHDDS guidelines.
• Code inpatient, observation, outpatient surgery, invasive outpatient, and ED encounters.
• Validate DRG assignments using DRG knowledge.
• Follow federal/state regulations and guidelines for abstracting data.
• Record data into computer systems accurately and efficiently.
• Support accounts receivable goals and participate in performance improvement.
