Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a skilled medical coder to abstract billing information from medical records and assign CPT-4 and ICD-10 codes in support of physician fees and procedures.

The role requires at least two years of coding experience, CPC certification, and familiarity with EHR systems. You must be able to work in a Microsoft Windows environment; onsite testing in Marlton, NJ is required prior to interviews.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years records coding experience and/or equivalent education.
• Ability to perform functions in a Microsoft Windows environment.
• Previous experience with an electronic health record system preferred.
• Knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology/Medical terminology required.
• CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Abstract billing for outpatient E/M codes, CPT-4/HCPCS codes and ICD-10-CM from provider documents.
• Research coding/billing issues and collaborate with physicians and coding consultants.
• Analyze medical records to determine coding accuracy and potential abuse patterns.
