Capital Health is seeking a remote-capable Inpatient Coder to review inpatient medical records, assign accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, and determine proper DRG groupings. This role supports compliant coding and proper reimbursement within a hospital system.

The position requires CCS certification, hospital coding experience, and proficiency with encoder tools and EMR systems. Remote work is available for candidates in NJ, PA, or AL.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; CCS certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital coding and inpatient settings is required.
• CCS/RHIT/RHIA credentials kept current; knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS is essential.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records, physician notes, operative reports, and discharge summaries.
• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures per guidelines.
• Ensure accurate DRG assignments (MS-DRG/APR-DRG) and MCC/CC presence.
• Collaborate with CDI and revenue cycle teams; support audits and education.
