Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder (CCS) for a full-time daytime role with remote options, serving NJ, PA, and AL. You will review complex inpatient records, assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, and determine MS-DRG/APR-DRG groupings to ensure accurate reimbursement and quality reporting.

The position requires hospital coding experience, CCS certification, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with CDI and revenue cycle teams to meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Requires CCS certification and hospital coding experience.
• Demonstrates knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and UHDDS guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work remotely.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient records to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and ICD-10-PCS procedures.
• Assign accurate DRGs (MS-DRG/APR-DRG) and POA indicators.
• Collaborate with CDI and revenue cycle teams to optimize documentation and reimbursement.
• Maintain compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory updates.
• Participate in audits and education sessions.
