Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time role. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and CCS certification, with a preference for 3 years of outpatient coding.

The coder will work with inpatient and outpatient accounts, using ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS CPT, and other coding references to ensure accurate coding and DRG assignments. Start date is immediate, and a coding assessment will be required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification required.
• Minimum 3 years outpatient coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to determine diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy.
• Strive for optimal DRG assignments with decision support.
• Maintain steady productivity and quality.
• Hold accounts when more information is needed and coordinate with staff.
