Pena4 Inc. is seeking an experienced Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote role. The position requires a minimum of 5 years in IP PCS coding, with 3 years of OP coding preferred. A CCS certificate is mandatory, and candidates will undergo IP and/or OP assessment tests.

The coder will use ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, CPT, and other references to ensure accurate coding and DRG assignments, while maintaining high-quality, timely coding across inpatient and outpatient accounts.

Qualificações

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate required.
• At least 3 years of OP coding experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures, and complications.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures, maintaining high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with system assistance.
• Maintain consistent productivity and quality levels.
• Request additional information when needed for accurate coding/DRG assignment.
• Keep current on coding guidelines and share updates with team.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
• Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
