Job summary

Pena4 Inc is hiring an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for 100% remote work in the United States. The role requires at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience and a CCS certificate, with a coding assessment to be passed.

The coder will work on inpatient and outpatient accounts, using ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, CPT, and other coding references to ensure accurate coding and DRG assignments. Start date is immediate and schedule is full-time weekdays.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IP PCS coding experience
• Willingness to complete/pass coding assessment
• Proficiency in inpatient and outpatient coding
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with computer system support
• Maintain productivity and coding quality.
• Request additional information from staff when needed for accurate coding
• Stay current on coding guidelines and share updates with team
• Complete assignments as directed by management
• Pursue continuing education in coding
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals
• Perform related duties as assigned
