Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time role. The coder will manage IP/OP accounts, ensure accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, CPT/HCPCS usage, and DRG assignments with guidance from hospital systems.

Requirements include at least 5 years IP PCS coding experience and a CCS certificate. A coding assessment test is required for consideration. Start date is immediate.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.
• Full-time, 100% remote work with immediate start.
• Coding assessment test to be completed.

Responsibilities

• Examine complete medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures accurately with high accuracy.
• Strive for optimal DRG assignments with computer support.
• Maintain steady productivity and coding quality.
• Hold accounts when additional information is needed and escalate as required.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and share updates with colleagues.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education and professional development.
• Collaborate with team to meet department and client goals.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
