Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an inpatient coder with CCS certification for a 100% remote, full-time role. You will handle IP PCS coding and related outpatient coding when needed, utilizing ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS, CPT and other coding references.

Requirements include 5+ years IP PCS coding, 3+ years OP coding preferred, CCS certification, and an immediate start. Start date is immediate and a coding assessment may be required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• At least 3 years of OP coding experience preferred.
• CCS certificate is required.
• 100% remote work arrangement.
• Full-time hours with regular day shift.
• Immediate start date.

Responsibilities

• Examine medical records to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequence diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy.
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments with system support.
• Maintain steady productivity and coding quality.
• Request additional information when needed for accuracy.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and share knowledge.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Collaborate with team to meet goals.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
