Job summary

Pena4 Inc. is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote, full-time role. Requires 5+ years IP PCS coding and 3+ years OP coding, with CCS certification and a willingness to pass coding assessments.

Responsibilities include accurate record review, ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, HCPCS/CPT usage, DRG optimization, and adherence to current guidelines. Start date is immediate.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification is required.
• At least 3 years of OP coding experience preferred.
• Remote, full-time schedule.
• Start date: Immediately.
• IP and/or OP assessment test required and must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Examines the complete medical record to determine principal & secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Accurately sequences diagnoses & procedures with 95% accuracy.
• Aims for optimal DRG assignments with system support.
• Maintains steady productivity and quality levels.
• Holds accounts when more information is needed for accurate coding.
• Reviews coding literature and stays current with guidelines.
• Completes assignments as directed by management.
• Seeks continuing education opportunities.
• Works as a team to meet department and client goals.
• Performs related duties or special projects as assigned.
