Pena4 Inc is seeking an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for 100% remote W2 regular employment. Requires 5+ years IP PCS coding; 3+ years OP preferred; CCS certification required; weekdays, full-time hours; day shift; start immediately.

The coder will use ICD-10-CM/PCS, HCPCS CPT, and other coding references to ensure accurate coding for inpatient and outpatient accounts, with experience across Cerner, PowerChart, 3M and EPIC. An assessment test is required.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certification required.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and CPT coding.
• Experience with inpatient and outpatient accounts.

Responsabilités

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses, procedures and complications.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures to maintain high accuracy.
• Strive to obtain optimal DRG assignments with system support.
• Maintain consistent productivity and quality levels.
• Hold accounts when more information is needed and escalate appropriately.
• Review coding literature and stay current with coding guidelines.
• Complete assignments as directed by management with reliability.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Work as a team member to meet goals for the department and client.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
