Job summary

Datavant is seeking experienced inpatient coders to join a fully remote team. You will assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes, accurately abstract from patient records, and maintain high-quality documentation.

You will oversee Level 1 & 2 Coders as needed, drive documentation improvements, and ensure a 95% coding accuracy rate with strong collaboration across hospital staff. A minimum of 3 years inpatient coding is required, with CCS/RHIA/RHIT preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Accurately sequence and abstract codes from patient records.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders when applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement and coding issue resolutions.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Collaborate with colleagues, management, and hospital staff.
