Job summary

Enjoin is seeking an experienced Inpatient Coder to accurately assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for complex inpatient records. You will ensure documentation reflects severity of illness, risk of mortality, and appropriate reimbursement.

This highly analytical role supports hospitals in coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and data integrity while thriving in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• AHIMA credential required (CCS, RHIA, or RHIT).
• Minimum 3 years of inpatient hospital coding experience.
• Proficiency with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding.
• Strong knowledge of MS-DRGs, APR-DRGs, POA indicators, Official Coding Guidelines, and Coding Clinic.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient records and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes.
• Ensure correct MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignments.
• Capture POA indicators and identify SOI, ROM, HACs, HCCs, SDOH, quality measures, and reimbursements.
• Identify NTAP opportunities to support reimbursement.
• Validate discharge disposition for coding accuracy.
• Maintain high coding quality while meeting productivity expectations.
• Stay current on ICD-10 updates, Coding Clinic, and payer requirements.
• Adhere to AHIMA ethical standards and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with internal coding leadership and quality teams.
