Job summary

Datavant is hiring experienced inpatient coders for a fully remote role. The position focuses on ICD-10-CM/PCS coding with a target of 95% accuracy and adherence to MS-DRG standards, while mentoring Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.

The role requires at least 3 years of inpatient coding experience, AHIMA credentials preferred, and strong communication skills. Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive training are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Sequence and abstract codes from patient records with accuracy.
• Oversee and audit Level 1 & 2 Coders where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Communicate with colleagues and hospital staff on clinical and reimbursement issues.
