Job summary

Datavant is a healthcare data collaboration platform seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our team remotely. The role focuses on accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, quality audits, and collaboration with hospital staff to support documentation and reimbursement.

You will oversee and audit Level 1-2 Coders, strive for 95% accuracy, and maintain productivity benchmarks while communicating effectively with management.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of recent inpatient coding facility experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records, ensuring precision and adherence to documentation
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues, facilitating resolution with relevant stakeholders
• Uphold an overall 95% coding accuracy rate and a 95% accuracy rate for MS-DRG assignments
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks
• Foster professional communication with colleagues, management, and hospital staff, while addressing clinical and reimbursement issues
