Job summary

Vail Health in Massachusetts is seeking an Admitting/Clerical role focusing on efficient scheduling for outpatient imaging and cardiopulmonary testing. You will verify demographics and insurance, create Pre-Registration encounters, and handle incoming calls with professional communication.

The position requires accurate data entry, familiarity with medical terminology, and basic computer/typing skills. English proficiency is essential for daily tasks and patient interactions.

Qualifications

• Must have working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette required.
• Previous admitting or clerical experience preferred.
• Office typing and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules outpatient Imaging and Cardiopulmonary testing in a timely and efficient manner.
• Verifies patient demographics and Insurance details to create Pre-Registration Encounters for all Scheduled Procedures.
• Answers incoming phone calls, takes complete messages, prioritizes and redirects calls appropriately.
• Works with clinic staff to ensure demographic and insurance information is up to date, orders are accurate and diagnosis codes support medical necessity.
• Creates complete and accurate Pre-Registration accounts for all scheduled appointments.
• Documents contact attempts and coordinates follow-up scheduling with other staff when out of the office.
