Job summary

Vail Health is seeking a detail-oriented Admitting/Pre-Registration Clerk to join our outpatient scheduling team. You will verify patient demographics and insurance, pre-register patients for procedures, and coordinate with clinics, providers, and technologists to ensure accurate records and efficient flow.

Strong communication, basic medical terminology, and computer skills are required. Prior clerical or admitting experience is preferred, with English fluency essential for patient interactions.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Office typing and computer skills required.
• Must have working knowledge of English (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Schedules outpatient Imaging and Cardiopulmonary testing in a timely and efficient manner; verifies demographics and insurance details.
• Answers incoming calls, takes messages, prioritizes and redirects as needed.
• Keeps demographic and insurance information up to date; ensures diagnoses support medical necessity.
• Creates complete Pre-Registration accounts for all scheduled appointments.
• Documents contact attempts and coordinates with staff to maintain scheduling flow.
• Demonstrates excellent communication; admitting/clerical experience preferred.
