Job summary

Vail Health Hospital is seeking personnel to manage outpatient Pre-Registration for scheduled procedures, verify patient demographics and insurance details, and support timely appointment scheduling.

The role emphasizes excellent communication over the phone, accuracy in documentation, and coordination with clinic staff and schedulers. Prior admitting or clerical experience is preferred, with knowledge of medical terminology helpful.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, phone etiquette, and ability to document accurately.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience in admitting or clerical roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with clinic staff, providers and technologists to ensure demographic and insurance information is up to date, orders are accurate and diagnosis codes support medical necessity.
• Creates complete and accurate Pre-Registration accounts for all scheduled appointments.
• Documents contact attempts and selects appropriate dates for follow up calls. Coordinates with staff when out of the office to ensure scheduling activity continues.
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills and phone etiquette. Previous admitting or clerical experience preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of medical terminology.
