Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Director of Project Development and Strategy to lead preconstruction for its High Voltage Infrastructure unit, including opportunity identification, estimating or finalization, proposal submission, and handoff to project execution.

This remote role partners with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations to ensure well-scoped, bid-ready projects and to drive win strategy and pricing decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in preconstruction, estimating, or engineering within HV transmission, substation, or heavy electrical/industrial construction.
• 3+ years in a preconstruction leadership role.
• Experience leading competitive/negotiated pricing for HV/substation EPC or self-perform projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV preconstruction through pricing, estimates, and bid development for substations, switchyards, and transmission lines.
• Own the preconstruction stage-gate process ensuring scope, take-off, risk review, and estimate quality.
• Develop and present cost estimates, risk registers, and pricing to executive leadership and ownership.
