Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Director of Project Development and Strategy to lead all preconstruction activities for its High Voltage Infrastructure business unit. This fully remote role focuses on opportunity identification, estimate finalization, proposals, and handoffs to execution, influencing win strategy and pricing decisions for major HV projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of preconstruction or estimating experience in HV transmission, substation, or heavy electrical/industrial construction.
• 3+ years in a preconstruction leadership role overseeing estimators.
• Strong command of substation and transmission scope, major equipment, and cost drivers.
• Experience presenting pricing and risk to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV preconstruction through estimating and proposal development.
• Own the preconstruction stage-gate process for the HV portfolio.
• Partner with Business Development to shape win strategy, pricing philosophy, and differentiation.
• Direct quantity take-offs, unit pricing, and labor productivity assumptions for HV scope.
• Lead constructability reviews with Engineering and Operations to ensure buildable estimates.
• Manage subcontractor and major equipment bid solicitation, leveling, and qualification.
