Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking a Director of Project Development and Strategy to lead HV preconstruction, estimate finalization, and bid strategy. You will coordinate with Business Development, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations to convert opportunities into well-scoped, bid-ready projects.

This fully remote role demands strong leadership and pricing expertise for executive leadership reviews. You will oversee risk, standardize processes across the HV portfolio, and ensure clean handoffs to

Qualifications

10+ years in preconstruction, estimating, or engineering in HV transmission/substation/industrial construction.
3+ years in a preconstruction leadership role managing teams and processes.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical/Civil Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Lead HV preconstruction through estimating, budgeting, and proposal development from concept to bid.
Own the preconstruction stage-gate process ensuring consistent scope, take-off methods, and risk review.
Shape win strategy, pricing philosophy, and differentiation for client proposals and RFPs.
Direct take-offs, unit pricing, and labor productivity assumptions for HV scope.
Lead constructability reviews with Engineering and Operations to ensure buildable estimates.
Manage subcontractor and major equipment bid solicitation and qualification.
Develop and present cost estimates, risk registers, and pricing to executive leadership.
