Job summary

CAI is seeking a motivated HR Compliance Manager to help take our HR compliance program to the next level in a multi-state workforce.

The role oversees the HR compliance team, translates federal, state, and local regulations into clear policies, and partners with HR, Governance, Legal and IT to reduce risk and ensure audit readiness. This is a remote, full-time role requiring strong leadership and policy development skills.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of progressive HR compliance or employment law experience, including multi-state.
• Two or more years of experience managing people and drafting policies.
• Experience with HRIS and audit support is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the Employee Manual and HR compliance policies, SOPs and related documents.
• Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local employment laws and advise on changes.
• Prepare workforce reports and certifications (EEO-1, pay data) and affirmative action plan.
• Oversee background checks, drug screening and MVR standards; align with FCRA and fair chance laws.
• Identify required compliance training and ensure rollout and tracking.
• Support audits (SOC 2) and client questionnaires with evidence and documentation.
• Lead AI governance efforts and review AI tools for compliance and privacy risk.
• Partner with Governance, Legal, IT/Security and HR teams to manage risk.
• Define Workday compliance workflows and recurring reporting; supervise day-to-day operations.
• Coach and develop the team; manage performance and succession planning.
