Job summary

CAI is seeking an HR Compliance Manager to lead our HR compliance function, turning labor and employment laws, plus emerging AI risks, into clear policies and reliable operations for a multi-state workforce. This role partners across HR, Legal, Governance, and IT, fostering an audit-ready environment while supporting AI integration in HR.

The position is full-time and remote, with a focus on strategic policy ownership, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, legal studies, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Seven+ years of progressive HR compliance or employment law experience, including multi-state compliance.
Two+ years of experience managing or leading people, and drafting policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Own compliance program and policies, including drafting and annual review.
Set priorities, road map, and track metrics for leadership.
Monitor federal, state, and local employment laws; advise on wage/hour, leave, and transparency.
Partner with outside counsel on complex or high-risk matters.
Prepare workforce reports and affirmative action plans; monitor compliance.
Oversee background checks, drug screens, and adjudication standards.
Identify required compliance training and ensure rollout.
Assist audits and client questionnaires with evidence and documentation.
Oversee AI governance and risk for HR tools and processes.
