Job summary

Leidos seeks a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer to lead a remote team in high‑voltage transmission line design for utilities across the U.S. You will apply standards (NESC, ASCE, NEC) to 34.5 kV–765 kV projects, overseeing both overhead and underground systems.

You will coach direct reports, manage client relations, and drive proposals and project scope. Explore AI, automation, and digital design tools to modernize the grid and enhance design efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering; 12+ years of relevant experience in high voltage transmission design.
• U.S. Professional Engineering Registration in at least one state or equivalent.
• Experience with HV transmission design tools and standards such as PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER.
• Ability to work in team settings and independently.

Responsibilities

• Lead HV transmission line design projects from concept to delivery for overhead/underground systems.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
• Manage client relations, scope creation, and project management; mentor staff.
