Job summary

Leidos seeks a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer to lead a dynamic team in designing high‑voltage transmission lines for major utilities, from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. The role blends engineering leadership with project management, client relations, and bid development in a fast-paced environment.

The position is 100% remote with a preference for Texas residents; some travel may be required. You will apply NESC, ASCE, NEC standards and advance grid modernization using AI and digital design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering; 12+ years in design of high voltage transmission systems.
• Professional Engineering Registration (PE) in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE and/or FAD in utility projects.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently, with leadership responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of transmission line engineers and direct reports.
• Provide engineering analyses, guidelines, and design of overhead and underground systems (34.5 kV–765 kV).
• Coordinate with planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
• Develop bids, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
• Manage client relations, proposals, scope creation, and project delivery.
