Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer to lead a high‑voltage transmission design team for overhead and underground systems across major utilities. The role involves applying standards, preparing bidding documents, plans and specs, and coordinating with planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management to deliver projects.

You will mentor staff, manage direct reports, and develop client relationships while driving project management and scope development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with 12+ years of HV transmission design experience.
• Professional Engineering registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE or FAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a team environment; can also work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage the engineering team and direct reports in high voltage line design projects.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specs, and material procurement/construction documents.
• Collaborate with project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management teams.
