Job summary

Leidos in the United States is seeking a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer to lead a collaborative team in high voltage line design, overseeing overhead and underground systems from 34.5 kV to 765 kV, applying standards such as NESC, ASCE, NEC.

This role combines technical leadership with business responsibilities: client relations, proposals, scope creation, and project management, plus mentoring staff and advancing grid modernization with AI and digital design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, preferred, or Mechanical Engineering with twelve plus (12+) years of relevant experience in the design of high voltage electric utility transmission systems.
• Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
• Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE and/or FAD, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Work effectively in a team environment; can also work independently.
• Favorable: 5+ years supervising staff; MS degree; strong client communication; travel may be required; mentoring staff.
