Job summary

SOLV Energy, a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, seeks a High Voltage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead all preconstruction activities for HV infrastructure projects. The role covers substations, transmission lines, BESS, and industrial power systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Project Management or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, high-voltage projects, estimating, or project management.
• 3+ years leading preconstruction activities preferred.
• Experience with substations, transmission lines, utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, or industrial electrical projects.
• Experience managing projects exceeding $10M preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction efforts for high-voltage projects (12kV–500kV+).
• Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
• Develop project execution strategies aligning client objectives with company goals.
• Coordinate preconstruction deliverables from inception through turnover.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates; analyze designs and bid docs.
• Review labor, equipment, materials pricing and develop takeoffs.
• Maintain estimating databases and market pricing trends.
• Serve as primary preconstruction contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Lead risk assessment, constructability reviews, and value-engineering initiatives.
• Develop detailed project schedules; monitor critical path and milestones.
• Support procurement strategy and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of estimates and execution plans.
