Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Healthcare Customer Service Specialist for a fully remote contract role based in the Phoenix area. You will handle high-volume inbound calls from health plan members, addressing benefits, billing, enrollment, and related inquiries with accuracy and professionalism.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of call center experience; health insurance experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; equivalent work experience considered in lieu of education
• 2+ years of call center experience
• Customer Service experience in a Health Insurance setting (highly preferred)
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, using multi-screen workstations, and using multiple applications simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional inbound telephonic customer service to health plan members, handling calls during peak Open Enrollment season
• Answer complex questions related to benefits, billing, enrollment, and other health plan inquiries with accuracy and professionalism
• Own each member interaction from start to finish with end-to-end issue resolution
• Document all member interactions thoroughly in the appropriate systems
• Treat all customers with respect and courtesy, acting in the member's best interests
• Utilize online tools and multiple applications to research information and resolve issues
• Resolve customer issues with high accuracy and timely follow-up
• Assist members in complex situations with critical thinking and clear explanations
• Collaborate with team members to support one another and share best practices
• Maintain excellent attendance and reliability to support service levels
• Participate in remote meetings and training, appearing on camera
• Use company-provided equipment in accordance with security and performance expectations
