Job summary

UW Health is seeking a Health Information Access Specialist ROI to review and process release-of-information requests, ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance. You will prioritize requests, determine delivery methods, and safeguard patient data while supporting timely information release to authorized parties.

The role supports remote work for eligible states, with a flexible schedule and dedicated resources to maintain patient care standards and compliance across UW Health operations.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in release of information, patient access, scheduling, or related activities.
• EMR experience required; EPIC preferred.
• Associate's Degree in HIM/HIT or related field preferred.
• RHIT/RHIA/CAHIMS/CPHIMS/CRIS certifications preferred; EPIC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, approve or reject ROI requests and prioritize workflow.
• Determine most efficient delivery mode to protect patient care and compliance.
• Ensure privacy and security of all protected health information.
• Process timely and accurate release of information requests.
