Sharecare is seeking a remote, full-time Records Clerk responsible for processing release of information requests in a timely and accurate manner, safeguarding patient privacy and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

The role requires retrieving and returning medical charts, validating authorizations, performing quality checks, and maintaining equipment and filing standards while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) required.
• Minimum 2 years in medical records or similar setting preferred.
• Strong computer skills with Word and Excel.
• Excellent organizational abilities and multi-tasking.
• Typing speed of 50 words per minute.
• Experience with fax, copier and scanner equipment.
• Self-motivated team player with good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Process release of information requests accurately and timely.
• Retrieve and return medical charts and scan records per instructions.
• Validate requests and authorizations for HIPAA-compliant release.
• Perform quality checks and ensure proper invoicing.
• Maintain office equipment and work area.
• Deliver excellent customer service and address client concerns.
• Handle incoming requests via mail, phone, or fax as needed.
• Observe privacy, HIPAA, and state/federal regulations.
