Job summary

MRO is seeking a Remote ROI Specialist to provide remote support to healthcare clients by processing Release of Information requests for patient records. This role operates fully from home, connects securely to client EHR systems, and ensures HIPAA-compliant handling of PHI.

You will review requests, respond to inquiries by phone, email, or secure messages, log and index records, and adhere to MRO policies. Strong data entry, communication, and independence in a remote setting are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior ROI experience in a physician's office or HIM dept is a plus.
• Proficient with computers and web-based systems; data entry experience.
• Able to work independently in a remote environment and meet production goals.
• Strong verbal and written communication; detail-oriented and dependable.
• HIPAA knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determines records to be released by reviewing requestor information and accessing EHR data that match the patient request.
• Responds to phone calls, emails, and secure messages from requesters on ROI issues.
• Processes requests from physician offices as needed and transmits information securely.
• Logs medical record requests into Exchange Manager.
• Uploads and indexes electronic medical records into Exchange Manager.
• Adheres to HIPAA privacy and security requirements and MRO remote work policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
