ABB’s Distribution Solutions Division seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead the expansion of our Grid Automation portfolio in the U.S. This role blends advanced grid technologies with a focused market penetration strategy, driving growth through utility customer engagement, partner collaboration, and solution development.

Remote position with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX. Reporting to the Product Marketing Director, you will act as a grid automation SME, lead presales

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
9+ years of experience in technical business development, preferably in grid automation or power systems.
Strong understanding of U.S. utility market dynamics and standards (IEEE, IEC 61850).

Responsibilities

Market strategy leadership to drive U.S. growth in utility/industrial automation opportunities.
Technical engagement as grid automation SME; lead presales activities and support solution design.
Contribute to standards groups (IEEE/IEC) and interoperability frameworks.
Build strategic partnerships and represent ABB at industry forums.
