Job summary

ABB’s Distribution Solutions is seeking a Senior Technical Business Developer to drive the expansion of our Grid Automation portfolio in the U.S. market. You will bridge advanced grid technologies with a targeted market penetration strategy, engaging utilities and partners to accelerate growth.

This is a remote position with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX. You will report to the Product Marketing Director and work across architectures, standards, and solution design, contributing to the

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
9+ years in technical business development, preferably in grid automation or power systems.
Deep understanding of U.S. utility market dynamics and standards (IEEE, IEC 61850).
Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Market strategy leadership to identify US utility/automation opportunities and shape penetration strategies.
Lead presales technical activities and support solution design across architectures and protection systems.
Influence standards through vPAC and IEEE working groups.
Build strategic partnerships and represent ABB at industry forums and initiatives.
