ABB's Distribution Solutions Division seeks a Senior Technical Business Developer to lead the expansion of the Grid Automation portfolio in the U.S. market. You will drive growth through utility customer and partner engagement, shaping market penetration and solution development.
Remote role with preference for Cary, NC or Houston, TX. You will act as a grid automation SME, lead presales activities, and influence standards while building strategic partnerships and guiding offerings like SSC600,
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
- 9+ years in technical business development in grid automation or power systems.
- Familiarity with U.S. utility market dynamics and standards (IEEE, IEC 61850).
- Travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Market strategy leadership: drive U.S. growth, identify opportunities, shape penetration strategy, secure product homologation with utilities.
- Technical engagement: act as grid automation SME, lead presales activities, support solution design across architectures and integration workflows.
- Standards influence: contribute to IEEE/IEC working groups and shape grid automation standards.
- Ecosystem & innovation: build strategic partnerships and evolve offerings like SSC600, SMU600, CogniEN.
