Job summary

National Power, LLC is seeking a Generator Service Technician to maintain and repair generator sets and related electrical equipment in the Elizabeth City, Kitty Hawk NC market. The role reports to the Service Manager and requires performing maintenance, troubleshooting, load bank testing, and startup/commissioning.

Ideal candidates will have HS Diploma, prefer Associate degree in electrical/mechanical fields, and may hold Generac or military electrical power production certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires HS Diploma; Associate degree preferred in electrical/mechanical field.
• Power Systems certification preferred.
• Experience with military or federal electrical power production roles is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on generator sets (5-5000 kW) and parallel systems; troubleshoot ATS and bypass isolation; perform start-up/commissioning.
• Troubleshoot diesel or gas engines (ignition, injection, valve adjustments).
• Conduct load bank testing to verify operating conditions and code compliance.
• Assist other technicians on large projects or complex issues.
