Job summary

National Power, LLC is seeking a Generator Service Technician to maintain and repair generator sets and electrical equipment in the Goldsboro area. The role reports to the CISV Service Manager and involves travel to job sites, including overnight stays, with training opportunities in Milwaukee as needed.

Ideal candidates hold a HS Diploma, prefer an Associate degree in electrical/mechanical fields, and may have Generac certification or military electrical power training.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate degree in electrical/mechanical field preferred.
• Current Generac Power Systems certification preferred.
• US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electrician’s Mate, or Generator/UPS field service technician preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to provide verbal/written reports on status, repairs, and supplies.
• Ability to account for time spent on jobs and travel; valid driver’s license required.
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PDF).
• Role requires working from home, managing vehicle maintenance and secure company property.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service capabilities; willingness to travel and train as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on generators (5-5000 kW) and ATS systems, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Troubleshoot diesel/gaseous engines and perform start-up/commissioning on new generators.
• Conduct load bank testing and assist with large multi-person jobs or complex issues.
