Job summary

National Power, LLC is seeking a Generator Service Technician to perform maintenance and repair of generator sets and related electrical equipment in Forest City, NC. The role reports to the CISV Service Manager and involves hands-on troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of generator systems.

Responsibilities include servicing 5-5000 kW generators, ATS systems, and associated components. The position requires travel, valid licensing, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate degree in an electrical/mechanical related field preferred.
• Current Generac Power Systems certification preferred.
• US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electrician’s Mate, or Generator/UPS field service technician preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to report job status and needs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on generators (5-5000 kW) and parallel systems.
• Troubleshoot ATS, bypass isolation, and start-up/commissioning for new generators.
• Diagnose diesel or gaseous engine issues and perform load bank testing.
• Assist other technicians on large or complex jobs and travel as needed.
