Job summary

National Power is seeking a Generator Service Technician to join our Raleigh, Goldsboro, Apex NC market, responsible for maintenance and repair of generator sets and related electrical equipment under the Service Manager.

The role includes troubleshooting automatic transfer switches, start-up/commissioning, load bank testing, and assisting other technicians on larger jobs. Travel and overnight stays may be required; company covers hotels and a meal allowance.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; Associate degree in electrical/mechanical field preferred.
• US Air Force Electrical Power Production Specialist, US Navy Electrician's Mate, or Generator and/or UPS field service technician preferred.
• Current Generac Power Systems certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on generators 5-5000 kW and parallel systems.
• Troubleshoot ATS, bypass isolation, and closed transition types.
• Perform start-up/commissioning on new generators.
• Load bank testing to verify proper operation.
• Assist other technicians on large multi-person jobs and complex issues.
