Job summary

Velora is seeking a professional Bookkeeper to join our remote-first Professional Services team. You will manage full-charge bookkeeping for Medium nonprofit clients, ensuring accuracy and delivering exceptional service using AI-assisted workflows.

In this role you own end-to-end processes, collaborate with clients to resolve issues, and maintain clean, compliant books. A solid accounting foundation and nonprofit experience are required to succeed.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years owning full-charge bookkeeping end-to-end with minimal oversight.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Strong fundamentals in nonprofit bookkeeping; keeps books clean and compliant.
• Deep experience in Aplos or similar systems; learns new workflows fast.
• Strong Excel skills; uses templates, automation, and AI support.

Responsibilities

• Manage full cycle of bookkeeping for multiple Medium customers concurrently.
• Use AI-native tools to streamline workflows and deliver faster, accurate results.
• Maintain ~70% of working time on billable client work
• Understand organizational needs and provide feedback to enhance information clarity
• Maintain high customer net promoter score (9 or 10) through proactive communication
• Adhere to established processes to ensure robust financial controls
• Identify areas for process improvement and share knowledge with teammates
