Job summary

Velora is seeking a full-charge Bookkeeper to join our growing Professional Services team. You will manage the full accounting lifecycle for moderate complex Medium customers, ensuring accurate records, timely reconciliations, and strong customer experience.

You will leverage AI-native tools to move faster while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. You’ll work remotely within North America, with a focus on high-quality financials, proactive communication, and continuous process improvement

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years owning full-charge bookkeeping end-to-end with minimal oversight.
• A degree in accounting, finance, or business.
• Strong fundamentals in nonprofit bookkeeping; keeps books clean and compliant.
• Deep experience in Aplos (preferred) or similar systems; learns workflows fast.
• Strong Excel skills; uses templates, automation, and AI support.
• Builds trust with customers through proactive updates and clear expectations.
• Clear communicator who flags risks early and keeps teams aligned.
• Outcome-focused and deadline-driven; prioritizes work that moves the customer forward.

Responsibilities

• Manage full cycle bookkeeping for multiple Medium customers concurrently.
• Use AI-native tools to streamline workflows and improve accuracy.
• Maintain about 70% time spent on billable client work.
• Understand needs and provide feedback; propose solutions for clarity.
• Maintain a high customer NPS by proactive communication and quality service.
• Adhere to processes to ensure robust financial controls.
• Identify process improvements; share knowledge with teammates.
