Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. is seeking a Technical Support Representative for our commercial and residential flooring businesses. This role combines problem solving, product knowledge, and customer interaction, with remote work and 60–80% travel to job sites.

You will support sales, assist field teams, review installation methods, and prepare inspections and reports while expanding expertise across Shaw’s flooring products.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of commercial flooring installation experience.
• Extensive understanding of commercial and residential resilient installation processes, methods, tools, and techniques.
• Carpet installation experience and/or professional certifications are a plus*
• Must demonstrate strong communication, presentation, and training skills, with the ability to translate technical information into practical guidance.
• Must be able to travel 60–80% to job sites and work remotely with field teams.

Responsibilities

• Industry leading expertise in installation of commercial and residential flooring products and engaging customers in end use environments.
• Support sales reps with projects providing technical support on product, installation, and performance.
• Support business on job starts.
• Serve as an inspector for field project situations and prepare inspection reports and related documents.
• Identify training opportunities and share knowledge with customers and installers.
• Discuss advanced installation techniques and defend opinions in writing and verbally with customers.
• Support training efforts and sales events on product and installation methods.
• Cross-train to obtain knowledge of all Shaw flooring products and train Level 1 & 2 Tech Reps.
