Job summary

Affirm is building its own bank and seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own core banking systems, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and tooling. You will work in a small AI-native team with exposure to senior leadership, launching deposit products, enabling loan originations, and bringing card issuing online.

The role emphasizes ownership, fast delivery, and collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Audit to meet regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Senior software engineer with end-to-end ownership from design through launch and ops.
• Comfort with ambiguity and fast-moving, launch-focused environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for executives and engineers.
• Experience applying AI tools to improve code quality and velocity.

Responsibilities

• Own bank systems end-to-end: cloud infra, data platform, workflows, CI/CD, and integrations.
• Raise the bar on code reviews, design standards, and examiner-readable docs.
• Ship AI-first features and leverage agentic workflows for delivery and operations.
• Manage vendor relationships and bank-facing integrations end-to-end.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit from day one.
