Job summary

Mews is seeking a PayOps Analyst to act as the operational heartbeat of our Payment Operations. You will monitor payment flows, manage incidents end-to-end, and provide insights to keep merchants paid accurately and on time.

This role emphasizes proactive improvements, AI-assisted workflows, and cross-functional collaboration across Support, Product, FinTech R&D, and PSPs to drive scalable operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in payments, operations, or fintech
• Hands-on with PSPs, Stripe/Adyen; Airwallex or similar
• Strong understanding of card acquiring, payout processes, and authorisation flows
• Analytical/problem-solving mindset with data-driven approach
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and dashboards; Power BI/Databricks a plus
• AI fluency: actively use Claude; provide context and own AI-assisted outputs
• Ability to cite concrete example of AI improving work processes

Responsibilities

• Monitor payout timeliness, authorisation success rates, SLA breaches, and fee accuracy across Stripe/Adyen
• Log and manage incidents in Jira Service Portal with clear ownership
• Perform root-cause analysis on recurring failures and feed insights to PayOps Manager
• Support operational readiness checklists for onboarding, new markets, and launches
• Coordinate with Customer Support, Product, FinTech R&D, FinCrime, PSPs/vendors to resolve escalations
• Prepare weekly KPI reporting and monthly vendor performance summaries
• Maintain runbook library for recurring issues and tasks
• Flag recurring incidents to Operational Risk Register for governance review
• Track PSP/vendor SLA adherence and report to PayOps Manager
• Draft first-line merchant communications for outages/incidents for approval
