Job summary

Mews seeks a PayOps Analyst to serve as the operational heartbeat of our Payment Operations. You will monitor payment flows, manage incidents end to end, and provide insights to keep merchants paid accurately and on time.

This role emphasizes rapid issue spotting, data-driven analysis, and an AI-forward approach, using tools like Claude to reduce manual tasks and improve efficiency. Based in the USA, with a salary range disclosed.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in payments, operations, or fintech.
• Hands-on experience with PSPs, ideally Stripe and/or Adyen; Airwallex or equivalent is relevant.
• Strong understanding of card acquiring, payout processes, and authorisation flows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven approach to incidents.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and operational dashboards; Power BI or Databricks a plus.
• Clear, effective communication across internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Monitor payout timeliness, authorisation success rates, SLA breaches, dispute prevention readiness, and fee accuracy across Stripe and Adyen.
• Log and manage incidents in the Jira Service Portal with clear ownership and SLA tracking.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring failures and feed insights to PayOps Manager.
• Support operational readiness checklists for PSP onboarding, new markets, and feature launches.
• Coordinate with Support, Product, FinTech R&D, FinCrime, and PSPs to resolve escalations.
• Prepare weekly KPI reporting and monthly performance summaries.
• Maintain the runbook library for recurring issues and tasks.
• Flag recurring incidents in the Operational Risk Register for governance review.
