Job summary

Mews is seeking a PayOps Analyst to act as the operational heartbeat of Payment Operations. You’ll monitor payout timeliness, authorisation success rates, and incident management to keep merchants paid accurately and on time.

This role demands clear thinking under pressure, strong data skills, and collaboration with Customer Support, Product, FinTech R&D, and PSPs. We encourage an AI-first approach and have tools like Claude to reduce manual tasks and speed up escalation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in payments, operations, or fintech.
• Hands-on experience with PSPs, ideally Stripe and/or Adyen; Airwallex or equivalent relevant.
• Strong understanding of card acquiring, payout processes, and authorisation flows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven incident investigation.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, and operational dashboards; Power BI or Databricks is a plus.
• Clear, effective communication across internal teams and external partners.
• AI fluency: actively use tools like Claude in daily work and demonstrate AI-driven improvements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor payout timeliness, authorisation success rates, SLA breaches, dispute prevention readiness, and fee accuracy across PSPs.
• Log and manage incidents in Jira Service Portal with clear ownership and SLA tracking from triage to close.
• Perform root cause analysis on recurring failures and feed insights to PayOps Manager.
• Support operational readiness checklists for PSP onboarding, new markets, and feature launches.
• Coordinate with Customer Support, Product, FinTech R&D, FinCrime, and PSPs to resolve escalations quickly.
• Prepare weekly KPI reporting and monthly vendor performance summaries.
• Maintain runbook library for recurring issues and standard tasks.
• Flag recurring incidents into the Operational Risk Register for governance review.
• Track PSP and vendor SLA adherence and report metrics to PayOps Manager.
• Draft first-line merchant communications for outages with PayOps Manager approval.
